The Sound of Your Voice

Let my ears hear your voice,

The sound of your voice.

Let me quiet my soul,

And escape from the noise.

Some have heard what it sounds like—

Swift to the Rescue

The moment you hear me—

My cry of distress—

Garden of His Delight

Unlock the golden gate

And make Your way

Into the garden of my heart.

None but You

Hillside Glory

To God we give thanks for this year
Through which we have been brought,
For blessings which we asked of Him,

Wait for the Lord

Wait for the Lord when you are in distress.
Wait for the Shepherd, the Giver of rest.
He will deliver the weak and oppressed.
Cling to the faith He is putting to test.

He may not reply at the time you expected,
Yet do not despair if you’re feeling rejected.
You can either succumb and be wrongly affected,
Or else you can see how you’re being perfected.

Our Sympathizer

God's ears are not unable to hear
The cry of the afflicted.
God's arm is not too short to save
The righteous from the wicked.

God's hand is not too small to offer
Comfort that is needed.

Under the Tree

Among fragrant flowers and trees,
I talk with my Father who sees.
Deep down in my heart,
If I’m set apart,
As I kneel in the grass on my knees.

Under the tree is a place
Where I meet my Lord face-to-face.
So good to be true
That He loves me, too;
He fills me with His love and grace.

Last night I explained to my daughter, Charity what a limerick is.  So this is her first try at writing a limerick.  I thought it was excellent.  Praise the Lord for the gift of poetry He's given her!

Open Line to God

Available twenty-four/seven
Open all the time.
A heavenly connection;
There is no busy line.

Always there for you
When you need to talk
Cool waters that renew
A firm, unwavering Rock

Won’t you talk to God?
He’s listening right now;
Waiting for your prayers
Ascending like a cloud

It’s not your time that counts
God’s looking at the heart
Rewards will quickly mount
Today, why don’t you start?

It’s not just on the bad days
That we should pray to God.
He enjoys it when we pray,
And His glory we applaud.

Now we’re in the End,
When times are getting rough.
With satan we’ll contend;

Prayer is the key
To fighting evil powers.

When my daughter brought me this finished poem, I could see that it was very good.  I only helped her change the last line in the fifth stanza, "And His glory we applaud."  I hope you enjoyed reading what the Lord gave her.  Here is the Scriptural basis for it:

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; (Col 4:2)

Pray without ceasing;  (1Th 5:17)

"Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."  (Mat 26:41)

My Anchor

You hold me right in place.
In you I feel secure.
You’ve always kept me safe.
Christ, my steadfast Anchor.

Keeping me with love divine;
If in you I do remain,
Clinging tightly all the time.
You protect me from the rain.

Along the tiring seas
Of hardships, dangers too,
This ship of mine must always have
Its Anchor, which is You

The Rock on which I stand,
My Fortress and my Shield.
Held safely in your Hand;
All I have I yield.

Those who are awake,
Keeping holy lives
The devil cannot shake,
If God’s the One who drives.

Planted by the waters,
Unmoving in your faith,
Satan screams and hollers;
In God you cannot quake.

Though tests will keep on coming
To see if you are true,
In this race, keep on running!
What God promised He will do.

Lord of all creation,

This poem was written by my daughter with no help from anyone except the Lord.  Here is the Scriptural basis for it:

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.” Hebrews 6:19 NIV

"And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. (Mat 7:25, NASB)

"And all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ." (1Co 10:4, NASB)

"For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." (1Co 3:11)

If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?
