A Thousand Little Gifts

The key to lasting happiness
Will ever be contentment.
No soul can think they’ll have this
If their heart shall hold resentment.

We envy and bemoan the fact
Our life is so routine.
It seems it’s always someone else
Who gets to live their dream.

Reaching to embrace ideals,
We cry, “They must be mine!”
Can’t we accept God’s perfect plan
And to His will resign?

Some things “just aren’t good enough”.
We feel we must have more.
We long for nicer clothes or car
(The ones we can’t afford).

Our God-allotted portion here
He calls us to embrace,
Though we compare and question
His sovereign purpose great.

A thousand little gifts we find
Within our simple lives.
What bounty we discover
If we live satisfied!

Scripture Quotations:
"Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need." (Php 4:11-12)

"If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content." (1Ti 6:8)

"There is one who pretends to be rich, but has nothing; Another pretends to be poor, but has great wealth." (Pro 13:7)

Do You Want to Know Jesus?
“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15).  He preached that we must repent and believe.

My Grace Was There

“O Lord, I’m lost!” the wanderer cries.
“I have no hope of Paradise.
Your Spirit spoke, yet I rebelled.
Undoubtedly, I’m doomed to hell!

“I know I’m past the point of grace.
Prayers for this would be a waste.
You surely won’t receive me now,
No matter what I say or how.”

But Jesus sees you in that Slough,
Deep in mire and sinking down.
He reaches forth and grasps your hand.
With eyes intent, He says, “I can.

“I love you with a burning love.
Freely you are pardoned of
That which surely brought Me pain,
And yet no more shall it remain.

“My Blood has power to make you white.
Would I condemn the soul contrite?
Do not say, ‘God will not forgive’
And forfeit every chance to live.

“Look, you’ve fallen in the mud
Where other lambs got in a rut.
Some sank completely in full despair,
Yet all along, My grace was there.”

Spared

More times than you have known there were,
My angels rescued you from danger.
Approaching harm and unexpected
Did not affect you, preserved, protected.

When you were only two years old,
You walked into a busy road.
If you had stood a moment more,
A fatal crash was next in store.

One day while on a mountain climb,
You tripped and slipped, but then a vine
I caused to catch and snag your feet
Prevented you from tumbling.

A night that had a normal feel
Was when the burglar planned to steal.
The door that you forgot to lock
He could not budge at twelve o’clock.

You were late for work one time
Because you sat in traffic lines.
Meanwhile the bridge you cross each day
Collapsed suddenly in that delay.

I manage every circumstance.
There’s no such thing as luck or chance.
On most occasions, you aren’t aware
Of all the ways in which you’re spared.

Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?

Great Is His Faithfulness

Great is His faithfulness.
His love never fails.
His mercies eternal,
They always prevail.

In trials and hardships,
He is our shield.
In Him we must trust,
To Him we must yield.

He is our tower
In times of distress.
But in the end,
Our troubles He'll bless.

God is our healer.
He will provide.
He will care for and hold us
Till the day that we die.
