The Sheep and the Goats

When the Son of Man comes in His glory
With all His angels to escort,
He will sit on His heavenly throne
The sheep and the goats He will sort.

He will put the goats off to His left
And the sheep will be placed on His right
Then the King will begin by judging
Those found righteous in His sight.

He will bless them and tell them to take
Their inheritance that’s truly theirs
This is the Kingdom of God
In the King’s joy will the sheep share.

For whenever He was thirsty,
With a drink they quenched His thirst.
And whenever He was sick,
Back to good health He was nursed

Whenever the King was a stranger,
He was always invited inside.
Whenever He was in prison,
Their faces they did not hide.

The righteous will not remember
Doing any of these things
But truly, these acts of love
Were all done unto the King.

Whatever they did to the least,
They did to their Lord, Jesus Christ.
Staying true every step of the way,
No matter how great the price.

But the goats disregarded the poor,
The sickly, the strangers, the hurt
And they never knew it was the Lord
They treated no better than the dirt.

So all those unrighteous people,
To eternal flames they will be damned.
But the sheep will all live with their King,
Those unwavering at His command.

Author's note The poems in this blog were written by my children, ages seven through fourteen. The "Why This Blog" post explains how the Lord inspired these poems in answer to a prayer during illness. I also recommend visiting my children's blog, A Brush with Life, where you will also find beautiful art they have drawn for the glory of God. You can access my complete blog directory at "Writing for the Master."

Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15).  He preached that we must repent and believe.

Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"
