He is the source of the wine
And the fruit that we bear;
All the love that we share.
So without Him we are not fine.
Without that connection to Christ
How can we have any life?
Or do the good works
That he did at first?
Our efforts to try won’t suffice.
This is important to know,
If you want your spirit to grow.
Then when you’ve become
As one with the Son,
You’ll have some good fruit to show.
"My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. "Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. (Joh 15:8-10)
"...that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me." (Joh 17:21)

Author's note: The poems in this blog were written by my children, ages seven through fourteen. The image of grapes on the vine is from Wikimedia Commons. The "Why This Blog" post explains how the Lord inspired these poems in answer to a prayer during illness. Poems on this site may be copied and used for non-commercial purposes, as long as proper credit and backlink to this blog is given. No commercial use allowed without express permission from author. I also recommend visiting my children's blog, A Brush with Life, where you will also find beautiful art they have drawn for the glory of God. You can access my complete blog directory at "Writing for the Master." Now I'd like to ask a very important question.
Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus. Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?
“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15). He preached that we must repent and believe.
Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"
