Armed for War

In war, each of us must be armed
Then we all won’t be so alarmed
And vulnerable
In times of trouble
Whenever satan comes to harm

Buckle the Belt of Christ’s Truth
‘Round your waist; don’t stay aloof
God’s waiting to see
If you’ll fight bravely
So put all your weapons to use

Put on that holy Breastplate
Take up the strong Shield of Faith
Extinguish the fire
That comes from the Liar
Stand straight and unmoving in place

A readiness that will not cease
This comes from the Gospel of Peace
The Sword of the Spirit
And Salvation Helmet
Of the Armor we must have each piece

For always we must be awake
To what is pure truth and what’s fake
Satan might suggest
That you take a rest
But you fight with strength and don’t quake

-- Charity Lacroix, girl, age14

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Eph 6:12-17)

Author's note The poems in this blog were written by my children, ages seven through fourteen. The "Why This Blog" post explains how the Lord inspired these poems in answer to a prayer during illness. Also see  "Entering the Kingdom of God." I also recommend visiting my children's blog, A Brush with Life, where you will also find beautiful art they have drawn for the glory of God. You can access my complete blog directory at "Writing for the Master." Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15).  He preached that we must repent and believe.

Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"
