You walk up to the crossroads
To the intersection
Now you have a choice
Between sin and perfection
All creation waits
For you to make that move
This is not a game
Though you could win or lose
Your heart thumps wildly,
Drumming in your ears
You see a danger sign
Just as you had feared
It blocks the road that’s wide
The one that seems to have
A power of its own
This flesh-appealing path
Finally, you decide
To take the wider road
Forget about the sign
You just want to go
As you take those steps
You quickly glance behind
Seeing the brighter path
A thought just comes to mind
You’re before the Throne
On that Judgment Day
God welcomes many people
Others are cast away
Then God looks at you
He says you disobeyed
There’s nothing He can do
You chose the wrong way
Knowing what comes next
You shake out of your thoughts
Having thought enough
You won’t fight with God
Now your choice is easy
You’ll just spare your soul
From judgment yet to come
By doing what you’re told
As you step onto
The path prepared for you
You feel right then and there
That’s what you are to do

Author's note: The poems in this blog were written by my children, ages seven through fourteen. The "Why This Blog" post explains how the Lord inspired these poems in answer to a prayer during illness. I also recommend visiting my children's blog, A Brush with Life, where you will also find beautiful art they have drawn for the glory of God. You can access my complete blog directory at "Writing for the Master." Now I'd like to ask a very important question.
Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus. Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?
“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15). He preached that we must repent and believe.
Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"
