My Letter to the King

Dear Lord Jesus,

Create in me a heart so pure.
Remove the sin man cannot cure,
And everything that You abhor,
For you will be my Great Reward.

I compare myself to You,
And no good work I’ll ever do
Will equal such a purity
As You have yet to work in me.

The way of life that you require
Is not what flesh would most desire.
But since I love what makes You smile
I’ll walk with You the extra mile.

I pray that on the Judgment Day
You will not cast me far away,
Keep me till the very end!
With love, Your trusting friend.

Author's note The poems in this blog were written by my children, ages seven through fifteen . The "Why This Blog" post explains how the Lord inspired these poems in answer to a prayer during illness. Please also see America, Turn Back to God. Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15).  He preached that we must repent and believe.

Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"

The Midnight Hour

The clock has struck the midnight hour.
God is on His Judgment Seat.
As Christ is coming in His power,
This time for Him is bittersweet.

God’s righteous anger burns in Him.
No longer will He tolerate
The game the world has played with sin.
Their time is up, the hour’s late.

As earth is shifting, shaking, reeling,
Man attempts to soothe their fears.
But empty hopes, though flesh-appealing,
End in grief and many tears.

Hear the trumpet fill the skies!
The Bridegroom on His snow-white horse
Bids His radiant Bride, “Arise!”
In glory He will gallop forth.

If there was time in Paradise
It would have ended long ago.
Two thousand years and now the Christ
Will take His Bride and wrath will flow.

The Name of the Lord

The Name of the Lord, firm and strong like a tower
Draws multitudes lost, and redeemed are empowered.
This Name is so matchless, it’s found without stain,
Yet the world disregards this and takes it in vain.

This Name above all names, the name of our Lord
Holds life that was purchased through what He endured.
Now saints who for Jesus faithfully labored
Have inscribed on their foreheads the Name of their Savior.

However, beware, for in days soon to come
False prophets will claim that they are God’s Son.
This will mislead and deceive many crowds
While the eyes of God’s people are trained on the clouds.

Those found ashamed of the Son and His Name
Thus before God will the Lord do the same.
If you love Him enough and you know Whom you serve
Then why be ashamed to speak forth His Word?

-- Charity, 15 years old
Scriptural Basis:
The Scriptural basis for my daughter's poem is found in the following verses:

“But these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.” (Joh 20:31)

“This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.” (1Jn 3:23)

“For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Rom 10:13)

"There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him; they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads." (Rev 22:3-4)

"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."  (Act 4:12)

"For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many." (Mat 24:5)

I also invite you to read the following two blogs of mine for more about the powerful name of Jesus.  The Name of Jesus and Jesus is Yahweh.

The One with the Master Plan

To Him Who is
And was and is to come
Worthy of all my praise
You are the One

I give You my head, my hands,
My heart, and soul.
I give You my knees and feet;
Holy Spirit, take control.

Come, Holy Spirit,
This very hour
With all Your omnipotent
And enabling power!

Help me walk in the Spirit
Every step of the way,
And abide in Christ
Every moment of this day.

Lord, I worship You
And You alone;
I bow my knee
Before Your throne.

Help me discipline my body,
And make it my slave,
So that after I've preached to others
I myself will not be depraved.

Lord, the wicked want a palm reading;
From one they think will know their future.
Yet what I need is psalm reading;
The Words of You who hold the future.

I’ve put my hand in Your hand,
The Great and Mighty One --
Who has the Master Plan
And will see that it is done.

If You want to direct me
Into something brand new,
Then this is my humble plea:
I ask You, Lord, please do!

Song:
In 2026 I composed a song with this poem, and produced a music video of it. See here.

Scriptures:
Jesus said, "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." (Rev 1:8)

And [Jesus] went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will." (Mat 26:39)

"Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God." (Rom 6:12-13)

"Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace." (Rom 8:5-6)

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. (Rom 12:1)

"But I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified." (1Co 9:27)

The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps. (Pro 16:9)

Faith Should Not Depend on Feeling

No matter what, I’ll get my healing!
Faith should not depend on feeling.
The Enemy can whimper, whine,
But I will claim what’s rightly mine.

Satan, filthy thief and liar
I call down on you Holy Fire!
Return to hell and come no more!
In Jesus’ Name, I shut the door.

Hallelujah! God is good!
My rightful ground is what I stood.
I made the choice to take a stand
And took my healing by demand.

Take Me Away

I search for Your face in the clouds,
For the angels and heavenly crowds.
Lord, take me away
To heaven to stay,
Where glory and splendor abounds.

Is it time for the Wedding to start
When I’ll dance with the Love of my heart?
With uplifted hands
Before You I’ll stand,
Declaring how awesome You are.

Arise from Your throne; pierce the skies.
Let me glimpse of Your passionate eyes.
Burst forth in Your light,
Great power and might
And then will Your people arise.

May my name be written in gold.
May You find my heart hot and not cold
When the City descends
And the world meets its end.
At last will the Rapture unfold.

I long for You, Lord, to appear.
Will You come in a month or a year?
If you grant me the grace,
Then I’ll wait for Your face,
And I’ll serve You with joy while I’m here.

Praise for Our King

Be exalted, O God, in the heavens above!
We lift up our hands, an expression of love.
From the depths of our hearts, we shout to the Lord.
Forever and ever He will be adored!

Awaken, O sleeper, and sing Him a song
In the coolness of night, at the breaking of dawn.
With love so divine You have captured my heart!
May nothing on earth ever keep us apart.

O King Who is worthy of all of my praise,
We rejoice in your goodness; our voices we raise.
Help me to love you with all of my heart,
Simply because of how worthy you are.

How great is Your Name and how awesome Your deeds!
No man can accomplish what You’ve done for me.
Diamonds and rubies can never compare
With the beauty and value of love that You share!

 -- Charity, girl, age 15

Poet's Commentary:  In the second stanza of this poem, I said that the Lord Jesus has captured my heart. I am using the word "capture" to mean "to attract and hold."  He attracted my heart to Himself when I was a little girl and has held it.  And He continues to attract me.  But I know that I am still in the process. I want to go to a deeper level in Him.  That's my prayer, and I hope it is yours also.  That is why I have added in the third stanza, "Help me to love you with all of my heart."  This describes my deep desire, and I wanted to make sure I did not lead anyone to believe I am more spiritually mature than I really am.
