Safe

When Jesus comes to save the ones
Who lived as they were told,
He’ll save from all oppression,
From grief, from hurt, from cold.

From all troubles surrounding us,
Burdens that weigh us down.
When we go to be with Jesus,
Like a fawn, we’ll freely bound.

From darkness into light we’ll go,
Minds innocent and clear.
No more evil will we know,
Safe from all of fear.

From all of death, from lies, from hate,
Far away from harm.
When Christ comes, we won’t have to wait.
He’ll hold us in His arms.

We’ll live with Christ in perfect peace,
Consumed in heaven’s light.
All those considered low and least
Will be the greatest in God’s sight.

"And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.'"  (Rev 21:3-4)

Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15).  He preached that we must repent and believe.

Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"

Call of the Missionary

That day that Jesus called my name,
Without a second thought,
Within my heart there burned a flame.
I ran to whom I’d sought.

I followed Him and listened to
The lessons He taught me.
And with this wisdom I then grew
Into maturity.

I want to be right at His side
And never leave the Way.
By Peter, Jesus was denied,
Yet I will choose to stay.

Whatever Jesus prays, I’ll pray.
I’ll follow where He leads.
Whatever Jesus says, I’ll say.
I’ll care for those in need.

It is a gift to know the Lord.
Each day has been new since
I heard God’s call and climbed aboard
And followed in His footprints.

He has been faithful to provide
And overflow my net.
Ever since I joined His side,
He’s paid off every debt.

He has calmed the raging seas.
Taking hold of my hand,
Though deep waters churn around me,
With His help, I stand.

The sick were healed, the blind restored,
But it was never me,
For standing close was Christ my Lord.
And it was always He.

With His hand upon my head,
Power was imparted.
Then when I said what He had said,
Miracles were started.

For all the days God lets me live,
I want to serve and show
The lost ones what my Savior did.
Then finally, they’ll know.

I love to follow where God leads.
And though it cost me lots,
When Jesus called me overseas,
I ran to whom I’d sought.

When my daughter was six years old, she told me that she heard the Lord say to her, "You will be a missionary."  Then when she was seven years old, she said to me one day, "When I grow up, I'm going to be a missionary."  And we became a missionary family when she was ten.  This poem is based on a song she wrote when she was eight years old, called "How Good to be a Missionary."  Here are the lyrics:

I need to tell you, people
That God died on the cross for our sins
And He rose from the dead
    To die and pay price.
    He got up into heaven
And he told the disciples to
Go and take care of His work
And tell people that He rose from the dead.
And it’s so good to be a missionary!
I am going to be a missionary,
    And tell people that God rose from the dead;
    Just like God’s disciples.

Jesus said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Mat 28:19-20)
